ABOUT US
The Emerson Twins, Taylor and Hayley Emerson, are identical twin co-founders of a storytelling platform bringing together music, media, and public impact. Their work spans five continents, with original compositions performed in Los Angeles, New York, D.C., Berlin, Beijing, and beyond.
They’ve built a global brand with 1.8 million+ views and 30,000+ followers, starting as “twinterviewers” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2004. Since then, they’ve written, produced, and staged original musicals and songs that bridge activism and art, from “Love is So Much More” for the LOVE-HATE U.S. Art Tour in Germany to “We’re Not So Far Away” in China to their original musical Twin Cities, which they wrote, directed, and starred in. A highlight was performing “Keep Marching” from SUFFS for Secretary Hillary Clinton at the Clinton Foundation’s 20th Anniversary.
Both twins served in the Biden-Harris Administration at the U.S. Departments of State, Energy, and Education, and previously held roles at Creative Artists Agency, Lionsgate, and Anonymous Content. They trained at Angeles Chorale, Interlochen, GRAMMY Camp, and Idyllwild Arts.
This summer, they are producing a musical workshop at Studio Theatre featuring original songs from past and current shows, performed by singers across the DMV. Later in the season, they’ll launch TwinGAB, a podcast where twins and guests dive into culture, politics, and world talk.
With backgrounds in both public service and the performing arts, The Emerson Twins are part of a new era of artists looking to use multidisciplinary ways to uplift stories, reach across the aisle, and make waves across the globe.
Taylor Emerson
Taylor Emerson is a Tony-nominated producer, creative strategist, and cultural diplomat using storytelling to drive global impact. She recently concluded her dream role at the U.S. Department of State, where she led efforts across film, music, and sports diplomacy: launching the American Music Mentorship Program with the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs), expanding the U.S. Global Music Ambassadors Program with YouTube, curating Oscar-nominated international film screenings, and designing cultural activations tied to Paris 2024, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and LA28.
Before State, Taylor worked at the U.S. Department of Education, advancing White House HBCU initiatives and contributing to national programming like Title IX’s 50th Anniversary and the Back-to-School Bus Tour. Her public service began on the Biden-Harris 2020 campaign and continued through the Presidential Inaugural Committee, where she coordinated talent logistics for Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Amanda Gorman.
She made her Broadway co-producing debut with John Proctor Is the Villain, the seven-time Tony-nominated, New York Times Critic’s Pick, written by Kimberly Belflower, directed by Tony winner Danya Taymor, and starring Sadie Sink. The production earned top honors from the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Dorian Awards. Taylor is also an investor in the Tony-nominated Romeo + Juliet, directed by Sam Gold and starring Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler.
Taylor is currently working with the #EDMatters campaign, where she wrote, directed, and produced a music video, launching in July, highlighting the importance of the U.S. Department of Education and the need to support our federal workforce.
She holds a degree in Psychological & Brain Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis, and will pursue her MSc in Media & Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science this fall, aiming to disrupt how film, music, theatre, and sports intersect and shape the world.
Hayley Emerson
Hayley Emerson leads the TradesForce campaign at Grounded Foundation, a 501(c)(3) accelerating climate solutions through media and culture. A former Special Advisor to the U.S. Department of Energy, Hayley is launching a nationwide campaign to recruit 1 million workers into high-paying skilled trades, starting with 10 mass registration concerts featuring artists like Lil Tecca and Big Freedia, aiming to mobilize 100,000 new clean energy workers by 2025. She also drives national amplification strategy, shaping messaging in 20+ cities and partnering with media firms and cultural icons like Chris Evans to elevate clean energy careers and public awareness.
During three political appointments, she advised top DOE leadership, including Jigar Shah, Andrew Light, and the Secretary’s front office, helping manage over $500 billion in clean energy investments and scaling the Loan Programs Office from 200 to 400+ staff. She played a key role in energy resilience work for Puerto Rico, the $1B Energy Resilience Fund, and U.S. engagement at COP29, G7, and the Clean Energy Ministerial.
A creative policy strategist, Hayley launched DOE’s first Storytelling Working Group, organized a Hollywood Climate Summit panel with Patty Jenkins, and helped pitch clean energy docuseries concepts to Netflix and Disney. She consulted on a DOE–Robert Downey Jr. collaboration, explored decarbonizing film sets with major studios, and composed viral agency songs like “The Energy Song,” using music and humor to rebrand federal communications. She even founded DO-GLEE, DOE’s first agency-wide choir.
Beyond government, she co-led RESISDANCE: Reclaiming Our City, a protest-silent disco hybrid supporting Democracy Forward, and continues to blend creativity with civic action. Her public service began with Biden-Harris 2020 and the Presidential Inaugural Committee, working artist logistics for Lady Gaga, Amanda Gorman, Katy Perry, and others.
While at Washington University in St. Louis, Hayley founded Center Stage Productions with her twin sister, Taylor, directing and composing an original musical together. Today, the Emerson Twins are building a future at the intersection of climate, culture, and performance, from Broadway to the West End, and beyond.
