Love Is So Much More
In 2021, Taylor and Hayley were commissioned to write an original theme song for German artist Mia Weiss’ “LOVE–HATE” sculpture, which toured across the United States. The sculpture’s message is simple yet profound: love will always triumph over hate.
Inspired by timeless anthems like the Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love” and the Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows,” the twins created “Love Is So Much More,” an ode to compassion, resilience, and unity.
You can watch a few special moments of Taylor and Hayley performing “Love Is So Much More” throughout the sculpture’s journey, from the opening of the U.S. tour, to a performance in front of the sculpture in Berlin, Germany, to a government event featuring a live sign language interpreter, and most recently at the Clinton Foundation’s 20th Anniversary celebration at the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Twin Cities
In 2014, Taylor and Hayley began writing a musical inspired by their lives as identical twins (originally titled Twins: The Musical). The show was first workshopped during their senior year of high school and later revisited in college. However, just before the opening night of their final dress rehearsal, the production was abruptly halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, after years of reflection, they’re reworking the show from the ground up.
COMING SOON: An original album featuring songs from their musical. In the meantime, follow along at @twincitiesthemusical for behind-the-scenes updates, demos, and more.

Speed Skating Sloth
In 2020, during the early days of the pandemic, Taylor and Hayley were looking for ways to stay creative and connected while the world stood still. They launched a TikTok account to share music, humor, and spontaneous experiments in storytelling.
One day, they asked a simple question to strangers on the internet:
“If we could write a musical about anything… what should it be?”The winning response?
A speed skating sloth.Challenge accepted. One week later, they wrote the full mini-musical! Included are clips of two songs from the musical: Skating At Last & When I Was Younger

What If These Were Musicals?
Taylor and Hayley love reimagining beloved stories as full-blown musicals, often just for the fun of it. They’ve written original songs for imagined musical versions of some of today’s most iconic IP, including:
“Another Beautiful Morning (in Chicago)” - the opening number of Emily in Paris: The Musical, which begins not in Paris, but in the Windy City (because yes, Emily had a life before the croissants).
“Skyscrapers” - an emotional, high-belting “I Want” song for My Life with the Walter Boys, giving voice to a girl grieving her family while imagining something bigger on the horizon.
“What It Means To Be A Rat” - a heartfelt, piano-driven duet between Remy and his father for the imagined Ratatouille TikTok Musical, capturing Remy’s desire to be a chef but also be there for his family.
These projects are part writing exercise, part love letter to musical theater, and all Emerson twins.

U.S. Government: The Musical?!
Taylor and Hayley each wrote their own love songs, but not to people… to federal agencies. One to the U.S. Department of Education and the other to the U.S. Department of Energy.
What started as a creative challenge quickly became a full-fledged concept… which they may or may not be turning into a musical.
Stay tuned.
